Banned Book Published in Beijing Party Newspaper

Thin end of the wedge!

These days people can not only buy banned books in Beijing bookshops, but read them in the newspaper controlled by Beijing party committee!

Beijing DailyRetired People's Daily journalist Yuan Ying wrote The Other Stories of History: My Days at the Supplement Division of the People's Daily.  The Nanny denounced the book and banned it.  The Beijing Daily, a party newspaper, published an article extracted from Yuan's book after the ban.  While the article, Memories Brought back by Pseudonyms, is not particularly sensitive, Qian Gang said timing wise it could be seen as a "silent protest" against the General Administration of Press and Publication.
