$1.2 Flights Between Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi

Vietnam's second major carrier will offer cheap flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.  Caveat emptor:

Pacific Airlines' savvy approach has not gone unnoticed by passengers. The airline quality monitoring firm Skytrax has given Pacific Air a two-star rating. This puts the carrier in the same league as Air Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan Airlines, MIAT Mongolian Airlines, Biman Bangladesh and Sudan Airways.

Passenger comments on Pacific Air have been good, too. "Planes used are probably from a now defunct Soviet airline. I saw instructions in a Slavic language," one happy customer said on the Skytrax website. "Cabin has a funny smell and FAs [flight attendants] are adequate," added the customer.

Another customer also praised the airline's low fares and services. "They would not turn on air conditioner until the plane is in motion. The magazine seat pockets were worn out and torn," said the customer. (Sydney Morning Herald: Snakes alive, Qantas goes commie)

Pacific Air will also cut fares for Taipei and Kaohsiung routes, according to Thanh Nien.
