Macau's latest tourist spot Fisherman's Wharf builds Potala Palace v3.0 under a man-made volcano.
Now it is not merely bad taste.

... 40-meter high man-made volcano sits at the sea's edge, forming the most eye-catching icon of Macau Fisherman's Wharf ... at night, the volcano erupts in a spectacular pyrotechnic display. (Macau Fisherman's Wharf official website)

Isn't it a bit scary to stay in a Macao hotel under the volcano. But I still want to go to that country and see its beauty with my own two eyes. I hope that when I go there, I am able lo speak their language .

Yea how scary! (eh ... you referred to the man-made volcano in the theme park?)
Some said sacrilege in the Lonely Planet forum. I am not going that far - to me it is a lack of sensitiveness.
